Le nid du Crot

Meublés et Gîtes

An ideal base for nature lovers and those who enjoy cycling or walking.

Situated between Saint Gengoux-le-National to the west (12 km), Tournus to the east (16 km), Chalon-sur-Saône to the north (30 km) and Cluny to the south (26 km), “Le Nid du Crot” is a duplex studio for two people.
Ideally situated on the western slope of the final limestone range in the Mâconnais region, you can enjoy the walking trails (loops of 5, 9, 12, 15 and 20 km) that criss-cross the Way of St James, just a 2 km walk from the house.
You can reach the Voie Bleue and the Voie Verte, 9 km away, to make the most of the cycle paths for day-long cycling trips.
The tourist attractions in Chapaize, Saint-Gengoux-le-National, Cormatin, Tournus and Cluny are sure to delight you.

We champion local resources, regional produce and rural culture.
We’ll be happy to share our favourite places to eat and our top picks for art and crafts.
‘Le nid du Crot’ has been renovated using bio-based materials (lime, hemp, Fermacell, gypsum and wood wool insulation). We would be grateful if you could treat it with the care it deserves.

We welcome you to a peaceful setting in the village of Etrigny, in the hamlet of Balleure. “Le nid du Crot” is a cosy and spacious studio for two people, with a separate entrance and a fully equipped kitchen. The bedroom (1 double bed or 2 single beds) is on a mezzanine accessed via a Japanese-style staircase (for the more experienced).
Linen is provided.
The studio has no Wi-Fi, microwave or television.
The house is attached to ours.
You’ll be able to set up a small table outside in the courtyard.
A cellar area is available for your bikes, with a socket for charging if needed.

We love our home and are very attached to it.
The brewery ‘Les Bières de Max’ is a local business operating in a rural setting. Its produce is sold locally at farmers’ markets in nearby villages, as well as in restaurants, bars, wine shops and local produce shops across the region.
The brewery has been in operation since 2020. The brewer highlights the hop-growing on the brewery’s premises for the production of three local beers, using 100 per cent locally grown hops.
A friendly atmosphere and responsible drinking for everyone’s benefit.
